Environmental management

In the second part we go deeper in understanding environmental changes by looking into the earth as a supplier of resources and analyzing globalization as a process.
In the third part we analyze political responses to environmental change, starting from the changing global political landscape and going in detail on the political response on different levels (global, supranational an mono governmental).
In the last part we examine the environmental polity in Business and have a overview on green business.

The course starts from a theoretical framework on environment and ecosystems.

• The ecological footprint and the supporting power ofthe earth
• The earth as supplier of resources

4. Towards green business?

The student will be asked to solve several (small) cases; these cases will allow the student to improve his/her communication techniques. Furthermore, active student participation is expected.

Further required texts will be announced in class and on BB, therefore the BB environment is also required reading, check it at least twice a week.

Assessment details

At the end of the course there will be an oral examination on theory. The student will furthermore have to defend a take-home case.
